ACG Field General Purpose

Not sure how I feel about this shoe yet. Good points overall for styling. It’s kind of a visual mashup of the Field Gen as ACG with a little borrowed Tom Sachs flair. Some good reflective hits under suede overlays on nylon. I wear a large size which doesn’t always translate well but I get a lot of compliments on these. The look is great but the fit is awkward. The toe box isn’t round like a court shoe but it’s also not pointed like a runner. It’s wide in the forefoot then has a narrow instep and high eyelet collar. Laced all the way up on a narrow foot it looks like it might be choking on your ankle bone (maybe leave the top eyelets open.) It’s comfy at first but as the day wears on they feel mushy and flat in the heel and the arch support hits too far back. Don’t change sizes tho because the length is true. Nice toothy tread and excellent grip underfoot, great for traversing potholes and scaling sidewalk. I picked up two pairs in different colors to start and I hope the colorways get better so I might buy more. Try it. You might like it.
