Zion 4

These Zion 4 shoes are great. The insoles have grips that are comfortable and beneficial. My feet don’t slide around during practices or games and are overall comfortable. The color-way is flashy yet classy. These shoes standout in the gym and provide great looks for any uniform or outfit. I like the sleek look and use of different materials like the chrome and pattern print near the Jumpman logo. The overall support and function is great and while the ankle support is very low I feel sturdy making cuts in them. The grip is great and provides good traction on the court. I’d add more support to the ankle and lower the heel section some. It tends to rub on the back of my heels and took some breaking in. Overall great shoe and changed my mind about Jordan shoes for the better!

The first thing that struck me when I unboxed the Zion 4 was how futuristic they looked. I couldn’t help but be reminded of galaxy themed releases from previous all star games, and the more I inspected the more I fell love. From the sleekness of the upper that reminded me of Liquid Metal to the etched detailing- I knew these were a winner in the looks department. Did I mention the soles? Anybody that knows me knows any shoes that have glow in the dark soles add 1000% aura in my books, and these were no exception. A definite stand out in the looks department. Okay now on to the first wear. I was confident the performance would match the visual aesthetics once I put them on and my assumption was proven correct. The shoes were secure more than snug and as someone whose feet run hot I could appreciate that the ventilation was there with us in mind. I had to have a quick hoop session to put the Zion 4s through their paces and after I was done I knew they were different. The stability was next level which made me do a little bit of digging to find out it’s from the added drop-in insole. As an avid hooper that’s up in age and often has to cut sessions short due to fatigue, I can definitely appreciate the attention to performance. All in all the Zion 4 is a revolutionary next step in on court performance and off court comfort, seamlessly blending stand out flair with a dramatic colorway with high performance stability.

Always been a fan of low-tops for basketball and these possess some great elements to keep in the rotation. From the ground up the translucent outsole provides great horizontal and vertical traction to the Zion 4. Even on courts at the local gym I didn’t catch myself needing to while the sole as often as previous hoop shoes. The zoom air unit in the forefoot feels fairly responsive once broken in while providing good cushioning for those longer hoop sessions. Full length lunarlon insoles make these easy to wear while running pickup games for hours or weekend tournaments all day long. Top tier in the cushioning department. My only faults with the shoe are the synthetic materials on the upper feeling too tight. Even after a good 7-8 hours of games breaking them in, the interior of the forefoot on both feet was pretty tight when making hard cuts or taking off. I will be looking to grab a pair a 1/2 size up if there’s an “elite” model dropped! Overall very respectable hoop shoes that I can see having a lot of versatility on the floor! Definitely recommend checking out for next season!
