Meet the Co-Creator

Tega Akinola is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who primarily works with discarded and second-hand materials to create innovative concepts and products.

Through the process of upcycling and repurposing, Tega’s work seeks to transform items from their distinct functions and styles into art-like pieces that highlight a unique fusion of materials and silhouettes. Her eponymous brand reflects both creative design and meticulous crafting, where every piece is handmade and individually unique.

Sustainable Mindset

Tega’s ethos may have begun as a way to save money as a kid when upcycling was simply a way for her to revamp her old clothes, but it’s evolved into something far beyond that. Now she’s more conscious about what she creates and how it might impact the wider environment. “I believe that everyone can contribute to a sustainable world, no matter how small it may be,” she says. Tega works with deadstock and limited materials so it’s crucial to think outside the box and make use of every scrap in the most creative way.

She’s always had high standards for quality and design sense and Tega's Nike Re-Creation collection is no different. Exclusively at Nike West London, this collection features unique bags, backpacks and apparel that are sure to add a fresh edge to your look.
