Nike Streakfly 2 Proto

The new go-to shoe for track races for this youth runner (no need to worry about WA / NCAA rules on shoes for track). For those who prefer flats to spikes, this is a tremendous shoe - promotes super-quick turnover, has some bounce, is comfortable, and is even lighter than the Dragonfly. Perfect 1500m / mile shoe, and will be testing later this season to determine if this works better than the Vaporfly for the 3000m (it should, but want to see how it works if runner fatigues a bit and loses some form, since these are aggressive). Sweet spot feels like 1:15-1:20 400m for a small ( < 5' ) runner.

Amazing fit and ultra light. It definitely has that negative drop; you’ll need that next level strength, stamina & forefoot running experience to use these shoes without getting injured. Keep in mind, I’ve not been training consistently enough & coming off naggging undertraining/overperforming calf & Achilles injuries. And it always helps to be young and strong (44yr old male 7:45/mi in a half marathon). Otherwise can’t to try again with better sprint strength and fitness.

Super comfy and very light and springy but the fly plate feels kinda dead after a few meets (I run the 2mile and 1 mile and 800)
