  • Heel is too soft

The heel is so soft it makes me feel as if my toes are above my heel, which causes me to feel off balance.

  • Great shoes are now even better!

I’ve been wearing Vomeros for many years. The design changes in the Vomero 17 have made my favorites even better. Always a shoe that felt better the further I ran, the new foam is just right from the first stride. I like the mesh, I like the new tongue. I like the lacing eyelets. I like the new waffle pattern on the soles. A huge thanks to the Vomero design team for putting in the work to make a great shoe even greater!

  • As a fast walker...disappointing

    J840043983 - Nov 08, 2023

I'm not a runner, but a fast walker and I have always worn the Nike Vomeros. The 14 was the best--why change it? I can see Nike may have wanted to redo the vomero 14 toe box and shape of the upper to make it more universal for those with wider feet (I have a narrow foot with a high arch and found the vomero 14 hugged my foot perfectly. I felt like I had 2 cushions on my feet and the shoes were quiet as I pounded the pavement for my "fast walks"). The 16 made me feel like I had 2 boards on my feet. I grew hopeful concerning the 17 when I read a few reviews comparing it to the vomero 14. The cushioning is great in the 17 but don't know why they redesigned the sole of the shoe. That hollowed area in the heel may be great for runners but for a walker, the shoes make a "clippity clop" sound with every step (sorry, I can't think of a way to describe the sound). I liked the vomero 14 so much, I had bought extra pairs back in the day and am using my last pair now. I always have 2 pairs of shoes going at once in case one gets wet etc., and so have a very clear comparison of the 14 and 17 since I'm using both now. 17 is disappointing...bummer. Perhaps some of the runners will highly approve as it does have great cushioning reminiscent of the vomero 14.
