The Nike Metcon 1 OG is a top-tier training shoe with unbeatable stability, grip, and a wide footprint. Its low stack height and firm heel make deadlifts and squats feel rock-solid, while the rubber outsole grips the floor like glue—perfect for heavy lifts. The wide toe box is a game-changer for balance and comfort, especially for wider feet. I’d love to see more color options, especially the iconic “Banned” black-and-red colorway—sadly discontinued, but Nike should bring it back! Still, this shoe’s a classic that delivers on performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the OGs! I'm glad they brought them back. They fit and look great. The black/ varsity red colorway is sick!

#teamnikeMake Metcons gym shoes again!!!!
AriousF108900226 - Dec 23, 2024
I have owned multiple pairs of metcons, been buying them since they first came out, every version from 1-6, multiple pairs of 1’s and 2’s, I still train in metcon 2’s because I have worn out all of my other pairs. Nike progressively has taken away the features i liked to make them more and more into a crossfit shoe. (Not everyone wants to be the most average athelete on the planet) My favorites are the metcon 2’s and 4’s. The fit, the toe box and stability when lifting is great, I dont like the new 5+ versions because I dont like squatting and deadlifting with a raised heal or a cushion because i dont like the lack of stability that comes with it. I will probably keep buying these but i wish they were the 2 or 4’s. Make metcons gym shoes again there are plenty of cross trainer shoes on the market no need for more.
