This shoe runs a little big which is a traditional fit for converse, so I was excited about that. Surprisingly comfortable as most platform shoes are hard, heavy and stiff , this design however allows for a little flexibility in the wear. The only negative push back is the packaging off the shoes takes away from the structural integrity of the shoe. When I took the shoe out the box the extended tongue in the shoe was crushed from being in the box. Being the material choice is a softer canvas, my tongues will never stand up straight which means that for me these shoes are no longer as versatile as I thought, because I know can only wear them with pants that cover the shoes, unless I want to look like a disheveled 3rd grader. I never complain with out a suggestion… so here is my suggestion: The material choice on the tongue needs to be tough enough to complement the super chunky sole. A nice tumbled bull leather in a whorly grey would have been a nice compliment to this shoe. Especially being a design by Rick Owens, also his name embroidered over the converse logo would have been dope , but I guess this is a white label mash up? I mean the hype of the shoe is the “Rick Owens” design but it is not expressed out side of the silhouette , which kinda suggest knock off, cause know one knows who Dark Star is?
