  • perfect summer sneak

I needed a new everyday casual sneaker, and these are perfect. I’m usually a 7.5, but I have the thigh tops blazers and had to go a half size up. I did the same thing with these, and they fit perfectly.

These shoes are more heavy duty than they look. I bought them to have walking shoes for a trip to Ireland and Scotland. Be warned, my first wear (before my trip) drew blood and left blisters on my achilles heels. That said, I think you generally need to break in any pair of shoes. I also think wearing higher socks may have helped (rather than my millennial ankle socks). I wore these shoes every day for 8 consecutive days in Ireland and Scotland, which, according to my Fitbit, comprised a little over 50 miles of walking. I never got any more blisters. I never felt like my feet were aching, other than that inevitable tight feeling of your feet being confined in shoes all day. I have back and hip problems, and I never felt like my body was in pain. We walked through heavy rain, mud, dirt, grass, on cobblestones, up and down hills, up and down flights of wobbly stairs. These shoes kept everything out and were very supportive. I would definitely recommend. I sized down half a size (usually a 7.5 in Nike running shoes) based on other reviews I read. They fit well, but I think my typical size would have also worked. They are quite narrow shoes, so if you have wider feet, maybe stick to your typical size.
