After the 7-year journey from ideation to release, the Air VaporMax represents a new era in Nike innovation. To truly capture the feeling of “running on air,“ the designers restructured the Air unit to be attached directly to the upper. As you step down, each lug gets pushed into the Air unit, ramping up the pressure. Then, as you step off, the pressure releases creating springy bounce with superior flexibility. Made for runners, the futuristic technology was quickly adopted by the street, bringing this light-as-air feeling to the masses.

How This Was Made
- This product was responsibly designed utilizing recycled materials from post-consumer and/or post-manufactured waste. One of our biggest steps on our journey to zero carbon and zero waste is in choosing our materials because they account for more than 70% of any product’s footprint. By reusing existing plastics, yarns, and textiles, we significantly reduce our emissions. Comfortable but the sole came after wearing twice. I kept hearing a weird sound and was like what is going on.
Love the styling and recycled material; quality of sole went down since made in China

Loved these and the fact they are recycled material… and have bought many many pairs over the years on website and in store.. when they were made in Vietnam they were amazing, good support, heaven to walk and run in …now made in China and Overly squashy and your foot sinks way down at all the pressure points; bubbles on the soles wear through and pop quickly now too. I wear them about two months and then the air goes out on one side… wish they’d bring the quality back!!!
