The short lacing area does not allow you to customize the fit/width as much as other shoes. I have a narrow foot/bridge of the foot, and my foot slides forward in the shoe. If I lace it tight enough to hold my foot in place it's too tight. Also there seems to be a huge jump between the 8s and 8.5s. My feet were swimming in the 8.5s in terms of width in the toe box and bridge of foot, but still pushing forward and leaving space in the back of the shoe. The 8s fit in theory if I could lace them in a way to keep my foot from sliding forward, but since that's not an option, my toes hit the end after wearing for an hour or so.

I bought these and so far i love the comfort this shoe has. I havent bought tennis shoes in years because i would buy Nike, Vionics, and schetchers wear them a month and not comfortable so gave them away. I believe i found a great pair.
