Air Max 1

Spiral Sage

The Air Max line was born when legendary designer Tinker Hatfield was struck by an epiphany during a trip to Paris. One particular building stood out, and its commitment to showcasing its inner workings made Hatfield wonder: what if Nike took a similar approach with its signature Air cushioning? He answered that question in 1987 by crafting the Air Max 1—and the rest is history. This refined edition of the game-changing silhouette comes covered in shades of Spiral Sage green and Wolf Grey and also features a stitched mini-Swoosh on the forefoot.

Heritage

Remember the revolution. 1987 saw the birth of the Air Max lineage, showcasing visible Air for the first time. What began as an experiment in cushioning soon evolved into an icon on the track and the streets. Over the years, it's been re-imagined and re-tooled, but the heritage always remains.
