Footpatrol Paris One Year

One Year

Footpatrol Paris

To celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of Footpatrol Paris and also to launch the unique style of the Air Max Tailwind IV silhouette, Footpatrol has one goal, to celebrate the creatives, community figures, local business, consumers and friends that have welcomed them to the Rue De Temple area, creating campaign that profiles these figures. The Parisian customers and community in which they reside have welcomed them openly over the past year.
We’ve met John Brotherhood of Footpatrol to talk about the start and evolution of Footpatrol.

How would you describe Footpatrol’s identity?

Since 2002 we have been at the heart of supplying the most desirable of footwear, specialising in top tier products from the most desirable brands, unique pieces and our own brand apparel range. We also identify as a hub for sneakerheads, a space for anyone from all backgrounds to get together and discuss what they love most!

How has Footpatrol evolved over the years?

The retail landscape and sneaker scene has changed a lot over the years, evolving and growing all the time, so we’ve had to grow and learn with it. From the small queues for limited releases, to week long campouts and now raffles, we have seen it all! But have stayed true to ourselves and worked on what we know best, focussing on the consumer journey with us and the product.

Why was the decision made to expand Footpatrol internationally? Why Paris?

After nearly two decades of trading from our London flagship and globally via our website, we felt it was the right time to expand. We wanted to serve customers in the cities we felt strongest links to, key fashion cities around the globe! We've spent a lot of time in Paris over the years and felt a real connection to the city and the people, making it an obvious choice for our first international store!

Le Marais is an iconic neighbourhood in Paris, it just felt like home from the very start, having many similarities to London's Soho, yet being true to its roots. The locals very much have their own distinct sense of style and identity, which is what drew us to the area.

How has the Parisian community welcomed Footpatrol in the neighbourhood?

The Parisian community have been amazing, they have welcomed us openly into their neighbourhood, supporting us from our very first day of opening. We also have an outstanding store team, which has really helped us to root ourselves into the Parisian sneaker scene.

Clement Molton, Footpatrol Paris Store Manager: We made a lot of noise in the community with our opening. Any sneaker fan knows about Footpatrol, and Parisians were excited about the fact of having such a great actor of the sneakers scene to arrive physically in Paris. Since then the Footpatrol community kept growing thanks to interesting launches and good service by a great team. The Marais was already attractive to sneakers and streetwear fans, but the arrival of Footpatrol has reinforced that attractivity. After a year, le Marais feels like home, just like Soho does in London!
