An Ode to Toyama
An all-over print on the sockliner pays tribute to the mountains of Toyama, where Hachimura grew up.
Fit For a Warrior
Shades of red, black and Sesame are inspired by a popular anime miniseries.
Letters of Influence
The embroidery on the lateral side symbolises letters MJ wrote to important people in his life. When he looked back on who he was and who he became, those words taught him determination that he carried with him to greatness.
Outsole Story
The outsole has circular traction inspired by the Air Jordan 1. The message moulded into the rubber tells the story of Mike's back-garden battles with older brother Larry. "45/2" nods to the number they both wore until they ended up on the same team. That's how MJ became #23, by splitting 45 in half and saying if he could be half as great as Larry, he'd be all right.
