Born from 19th century polo fields, the polo shirt has evolved from more prestigious sports such as golf and tennis into a modern sportswear staple. We empowered emerging members of NYC’s street fashion community to reinvent and remix the classic polo. As they dug into the polo’s heritage, our community ambassadors were drawn to athletes such as Prefontaine who defied convention and rebelled against the rules of sport. That rebellious spirit was reinterpreted through the DIY aesthetic that pulsates throughout street culture. Their inspiration was brought to life with a collection of limited run and unique tie-dyed versions of the Nike Polo, handmade by the young hustlers and urban trailblazers that NYC is built upon.
