Nike Sportswear’s EXP-X14 celebrates Nike heritage with the use of subtle detailing and Nike React foam technology that’s designed for driving style experimentation.
When it comes to the details, they are everywhere. Short for “Experiment,” the EXP in the shoe’s name nods to the experimentation by Nike Sportswear designers to create a lifestyle shoe with performance innovation. X14, represents the internal codename used when Nike React technology was in development. Found on the medial side, N3546 represents Steve Prefontaine’s fastest mile at 3 minutes and 54.6 seconds.
When glancing at the shoe’s upper, you’ll immediately notice the translucent appearance to expose the shoes inner workings. The patterned detailing throughout the upper of this lifestyle silhouette takes direct inspiration from the 1999 Zoom Drive, while the TPU plate that is exposed below nods to the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%.
