2018 AUCTION
DOERNBECHER FREESTYLE XV
More than 66,000 children are treated at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital each year, and funds raised through the Doernbecher Freestyle program help ensure that the highest standard of specialized care is available, whenever illness or injury strikes.
On Saturday, November 10, friends, family and donors gather at Nike WHQ for the annual auction to raise money for OHSU and celebrate this year’s group of amazing patient-designers.

This year's designs consist of Joey Bates' SB Dunk Low Pro, Chloe Swientek's Air Force 1, Aiden Barber's Air Max 270, Donovon Dinneen's Air Jordan XV, Kirsten Brown's Air Max 97 and Payton Fentress' Zoom Fly SP.

The unofficial motto of Doernbecher Freestyle is “Never Say No.” Kids are the boss, and designs that only kids could conceive are brought to life in ways that only Nike can accomplish.

Throughout the years, hundreds of Nike designers and developers have partnered with Doernbecher patient-designers, working tirelessly to realize each kid’s vision with exacting fidelity.

Often that means figuring out how to use new or unconventional materials, pushing the boundaries of how shoes are made, or engaging celebrities such as Kyrie Irving or even Kermit the Frog.

The Nike design teams will do whatever it takes. The resulting Doernbecher Freestyle collections are as unique and inspiring as the 91 remarkable kids who dreamed them up.

Over the past 15 years, these young patients have shared their hopes for the future, honored their favorite teams and athletes, and shown gratitude to those who have helped them heal. They’ve declared their love for pizza, superheroes, pets and stuffed animals – and especially for mom and dad.
