BACK TO BANNED

ART OF SNKRS

In 1985, MJ’s Air Jordan I was too bold for the league. While he was banned from wearing them on court, fans weren’t banned from lacing up the now-iconic colorway, making it a cultural icon still popular today. With the new Air Jordan XXXI, Jordan Brand is celebrating the controversial legacy of the Air Jordan I with a return to the banned mentality in both attitude and aesthetic. At the new signature shoe’s launch event in Las Vegas, Jordan Brand used custom wheat pastings to show the evolution of the banned Air Jordan I’s legacy, as well as MJ and Russell Westbrook’s influence as signature athletes. Check out the custom posters below, only in SNKRS.
