AIR FORCE 1 LOW

LADY LIBERTY

In 1885, France gifted the United States an iconic statue that represented freedom, democracy and the friendship between the two countries. Located on Liberty Island in New York City, the copper sculpture, inspired by the Roman goddess Libertas, has gone through many methods of preservation to retain its beauty for future generations. Inspired by the monument’s natural finish, the “Lady Liberty” Air Force 1 pays homage to the copper statue. Utilizing thermo-reactive materials, the metallic-tinted upper will turn teal once worn and exposed to heat, resembling the oxidized green patina on the structure. Once cooled, the AF1’s original copper look is restored. Additional elements are taken from Lady Liberty with a torch emblem on the lace dubrae and star pattern across the sockliner. Celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness with two icons on your feet.

HERITAGE

Introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 redefined basketball footwear from the hardwood to the blacktop. It was the first basketball sneaker to house Nike Air, but its innovative nature has since taken a backseat to its status as a street icon.
