Nigel Sylvester is many things: pro BMX rider, self-proclaimed modern-day explorer, visionary, but above all else, he’s a New Yorker. There is no shoe that better represents NYC than the Air Force 1. So, when given the opportunity to collaborate on a customizable AF1, Nigel paid homage to his hometown by incorporating the iconic extravagance of NYC streetwear in the 80s and 90s.
To create a product that could do the era justice, Nigel put together a flashy color palette, pairing it with patent leather, satin and plush velvet—the luxury streetwear staples that NYC made famous.
Nike’s 45 Grand Studio in NYC is hosting a pop-up shop from October 11-13th to kick off the launch of the Air Force 1 Low iD By Nigel Sylvester.
Attendees can purchase custom-made AF1 styles and customize their own Nike Sportswear tees.
