Homebred is a lot of things, but at the end of the day, I think it's really just rooted in growth. 
I'm Matt. 
I'm Johnny, and this is Homebred.

For us, the store represents our journey and our growth. Our first shop, Kings, started off as just a neighborhood skate shop. And with Homebred, we wanted to take the tools and the knowledge that we learned over there and bring this place to a whole nother level.

Something that I've taken away from all this is that you can't put yourself in a box. Everything is evolving and changing and you have to adapt. As a neighborhood shop, I feel like we're responsible for showing people what's relevant in footwear, sneakers, all the way down to the music.

You may see this bus featured in some of our graphic design work. It's really our first marketing piece. We had it parked by the window, and that would be a fishhook to grab people into the store. To be able to give people a space like this where they can come in, be free, and just check things out.

I think it's big for us too. Yeah, we grew up in the surrounding cities, so naturally the product that we bring into the store, it resonates with people really well. We're by the community, for the community. So coming here, you know you're going to get treated right.

Some of the guys that come in here, we've known for years, and they keep coming in because we just have that camaraderie now. Crazy to see the love and appreciation people have for the shop. I'll walk into the barber shop and everybody's decked out in Homebred like if they knew I was coming.

So we really wanted to celebrate all the important people in our lives and in our community. So we've invited my homie, Gio, with Alley Cat Pizza to cater to our friends and family tonight; celebrate them and the community and what it means to us.

Homebred is a lot of things, but at the end of the day, I think it's really just rooted in growth. We like to think the roots of this tree continuously grow as long as we keep doing our thing and we keep getting support from the community.
