I am so honored and grateful for this opportunity. So now to be able to start from scratch on a shoe to represent a high caliber school like Tuskegee University and now to actually see the shoes in person. I mean, it's surreal.

Yeah, these the hardest shoes out there. My name is Chester Hutcherson III. I graduated from Tuskegee University, class of 2020. To be a Tuskegee alum, it means to be prestigious.

It means to be illustrious. It means to be black excellence. I wanted to incorporate a lot of Tuskegee elements with the shoe because Tuskegee gave so much to me and…

…with given this opportunity to design the shoes I wanted to give back. I wanted to pay homage to the older alum and capture everything that Tuskegee is known for. The year that Tuskegee was founded, 1881.

I did the underline of the 18 because that's the record that I set for most tackles in a game. Again, I wanted to also highlight the Tuskegee institute being on the back. Shoutout to the old alumni that have that on their degree. Our Tuskegee…

…logo itself on the front of the tongue. Putting the gold laces in the front. Putting ball and parlay on the shoe string tips. The shed is a shed. It's a cover. We have the bleachers right there.

We have the band. We have all of our classmates, students in there. It sits right next to the football field. It's all right there next to each other. So with that energy being right there in such contact with the athletes…

…that's really what the shed is. A representation of love, excitement, and having a good time. I wanted it to be captured in the shoe itself so what I did was I took the picture, put it on the insoles of the shoe, when they put the shoes on…

…everytime they look into the shoes it's going to be the shed. It gives them that reminder of I was one of those people in the shed having a good time. Bring back those college memories. I felt putting it in the insole of the shoes is the perfect way to do it. I wanted to definitely leave a personal statement.

I wanted to definitely get the right signature but also putting it into the shoe itself I hope that I just made my family proud. I'm able to let them see that CH to represent my last name, Hutcherson Family. So that signature definitely meant the world to me.

I hope when you see it you think about homecoming. I hope when you see it you think about what Tuskegee has instilled in you. I hope when you see it as an alumni, I hope you feel that it's a shoe that I can wear to represent Tuskegee in any environment that you put yourself into.
