A new Nike Air Max model is officially here for those who dare to be different: the Air Max Muse. Unlike previous Air Max shoes, this new silhouette for women embodies futuristic boldness for an unexpected, dynamic look with the cushioned feel expected from the Air Max.

“This silhouette was designed to surprise women sneaker fans, capturing their attention and imagination with a new application of Air — something they’ve never seen before,” says Can Eldem, Footwear Designer, Women’s Sportswear. “Our goal was to design an entirely new Air Max model focused on both expression and comfort, making the silhouette uniquely hers — sleek, beautiful and bold — while offering the kind of innovation and cushion that she expects from the Air Max franchise.”

To develop these innovative and fashion-forward shoes, Nike footwear teams used computational design, applying filters of size, shape, texture and Air cushioning to envision a new silhouette that takes comfort and style to the next level.

With its softly exaggerated proportions and unexpected, standout shape, the Air Max Muse draws attention to the iconic Air technology in the heel. A sleek, semi-gloss finish surrounds the Air unit, further highlighting the shoe’s namesake technology, while a heightened arch adds a distinctive, fashion-forward touch.

The shoe’s upper is comprised of an unexpected mix of textures and finishes, creating a dynamic shoe suitable for a variety of activities.

The Nike Air Max Muse launches in a silver metal colorway, the ideal look to establish the shoe’s futuristic design and feel. An array of distinct colors and textures will follow throughout 2025, providing multiple dynamic footwear options to meet the wardrobe desires of fashion-forward women.

“We wanted to explore how the finishes of the Air Max Muse could enhance the silhouette while also providing her a range of options to suit her evolving style and mood, beginning with our silver metal colorway,” says Marya Chan, Materials Design Director, Nike Sportswear. “It was also important for the materials to surprise her, both in how they look and feel, creating a new, modern expression that can be styled in multiple ways to enhance her everyday look.”

Nike athletes Jordan Chiles and Qinwen Zheng and stylist Veneda Carter have been among the first to wear the shoe. On December 11, 2024, the Air Max Muse launches exclusively across select Nike retail partners. A global release on SNKRS is set for January 10, 2025, with additional colorways and styles to come.
