Continuing our journey to push the needle of footwear design, the ISPA Link Axis is Nike's first exploration into creating a fully circular shoe. "Every part can be recycled", says the ISPA team. "It represents progress over perfection—creating a product with a second life in mind". Guided by the principles of modularity and waste reduction, the design uses interlocking components, as few materials as possible and zero glue.
It also delivers a brand-new look and feel, developed with the same thoughtful approach. The underfoot sensation, highlighted by a "blown" plastic midsole and mechanical Nike Air cushioning, adds responsiveness and the perfect amount of bounce. Even the sporty colours are purposeful: they nod to the very first Link Axis prototype, now housed in a museum exhibit on the future of circular design. It's a reminder of our promise: everlasting progress towards the forever shoe. Imagine what comes next.
