Air Max 720-818

Metallic Silver

It's official: The Air Max 720-818 is ready for lift-off. It's taken decades of testing and preparation, but by fusing the iconic Air Max 98 and the innovative Air Max 720, Nike's designers have created an interstellar footwear vessel that's suitable for moonwalking—whether on Earth or the actual moon.

For the MX-720-818, the AM 98's classic upper is re-tooled with a streamlined space-age upgrade. Taking design cues from astronaut suits by using a sleek Metallic Silver nylon, all-round quilted stitching also nods to the vertical stitch lines of the original AM 98. Internationally recognisable (even from space) Air Max branding on the tongue keeps the heritage of the design in mind, while the AM 720, with the tallest Air unit to date, brings the all-new silhouette into orbit.

Heritage

Remember the revolution. 1987 saw the birth of the Air Max lineage, showcasing visible Air for the first time. What began as an experiment in cushioning soon evolved into an icon on the track and the streets. Over the years, it's been re-imagined and re-tooled, but the heritage always remains.
