AIR MAX 90 'B SIDE'
BEHIND THE DESIGN
The ‘Side B’ mixes materials, colours and details from AM90 icons of the past to create a hit all of its own. Read on to find out which blasts from the past were sampled.
With its black base and dark shades, the Air Max ‘Side B’ gets its colour pops from its ostrich-leather swoosh and matching laces in a vivid hue borrowed from the AM90 ‘Sunblush’.
The clearest reference to this shoe’s musical inspiration is on the tongue where lettering mimics an old-school record label, alongside the logo from the Air Max 90 ‘BRS Powerwall’.
The shoe’s mesh is taken from the iconic OG Infrared and, just like its ‘Side A’ sister, it features the premium nubuck mudguard from the Mowabb-inspired AM90 ‘King of the Mountain’
The medial quarter is another highlight, with its subtle print of the lunar surface, as seen on the Air Max 90 ‘Moon Landing’. There are a more iconic AM90 design features to be found. Can you spot them all?
