When I went to New York, I realised this was what I was looking for: a connection between music, graffiti

art and that kind of clothing. That culture, that music and that freedom have been fundamental to me in choosing which road to take. We worked on what is probably

the most crucial icon, also considering the first impression I had during my trip to New York: the Air Force, the most representative of Nike shoes. So I spoke with Nike, and we decided

to bring the collaboration on this crucial shoe to life. How do we take the iconic Triple White Air Force 1 and make it some

thing special for Slam Jam, using these lighter greys, to distinguish them from the Triple White, and using that pure white for the midsole

and the lighter grey for the swoosh. The aesthetics of Slam Jam come from brutalism and there are some of those elements in basketball courts in New

York and other parts of the world. For the first round, we wanted to look back at what Slam Jam did with the Dunk High with this single piece TPU swoosh and heel

it was such an interesting detail of the Dunk that could be carried over into the Air Force 1 as a signature of Slam Jam.

The Air Force 1 has become a style that feels almost open source and I find it really exciting to see how other designers

and other brands interpret the Air Force 1 through their cultural voice.
