The Expanded Nike Vomero Series Emphasizes Comfort, Versatility and Retro Running Style

Initially launched in 2011 as a performance running shoe, the Nike Vomero has evolved into a lifestyle sneaker collection that blends performance with comfort and retro running-inspire style. And, with the addition of the weatherized Vomero Roam, wearers can enjoy everything they love about the Vomero year-round, even in cold, wet winter weather.

The newly remastered Vomero 5, now available in kid sizing and several new colorways, emphasizes versatility and all-day wearability with a retro look that captures the nostalgia of the early aughts. The Vomero 5's design was inspired by the resurgence of the retro running-inspired style trend popular during the pandemic, as comfort became everyone’s top priority.

“The Vomero 5 is very comfy. It gives this retro vibe,” says Nike athlete and UConn guard Paige Bueckers. “A lot of the shoes that I’ve been wearing since I was little have the same look and feel, so it gives me something different. I love the colorways, I love the feel, I love the look.”

Built for performance, comfort and all-day wearability, the Vomero 5 is suitable for running errands or running on the track. The new silhouette delivers exceptional comfort through its proprietary Zoom Air cushioning system in the heel. Ventilation ports help keep the shoe light and breathable, and an upper made of synthetic leather and mesh TecTuff provides a layered look that’s also durable.

New colorways featuring statement colors and neutral hues provide additional options designed to fit a variety of personal styles. Colorway options range from bold looks — red, white and black — to subtle but exciting neutrals — pale ivory and shades of gray with a pop of metallic silver.

Introduced this fall, the Vomero 5 for kids features subtle differences to ensure a kid-friendly fit. The rubber outsole is constructed of a more durable material than the adult Vomero, and an upgraded sock liner and pull tabs help to fit the shoe on the foot securely and easily.

Meanwhile, the Vomero Roam brings an all-weather option to the Vomero collection. Designed for both form and function, the eye-catching shoe mixes style with practicality. A simple upper balances out a chunky midsole with a bold, stacked heel and thick traction.
